Bumi Lhakhang is a culturally significant site characterized by its distinctive architectural typology where a temple is attached directly to a central Namgyel Khangza Choeten. The original choeten is attributed to the 12th-century works of Drupthob Thangthong Gyalpo, featuring a three-layered roof supported by timber posts designed for the long-term preservation of the sacred structure. The site serves as a vital religious hub for 15 households of the Tenchekha Chiwog. While the choeten is ancient, the attached Lhakhang has been well-maintained, featuring high-quality, recently completed mural paintings (debri). The complex is recognized for exemplifying the historical and architectural evolution of heritage sites in the Dogar region.
