Tengchen Goenpa is spiritually significant as one of the five dwelling places in the Paro valley dedicated to the Tshe-Ring-Mched-Nga (Five Sisters of Long Life). Specifically, it is the home of Miyo Lozangma, who is yellow in color, holds a bowl of food and a mongoose, and rides a tigress. The site is a key destination for pilgrims, as local tradition holds that visiting all five dwellings of the sisters in a single day—including Drangje Gönpa, Ramna Temple, Dzongdrakha, and Gangteng Temple—will bring the blessing of wealth and good fortune. Architecturally, the Lhakhang is valued for retaining its original square form and traditional rammed earth construction techniques despite modern additions.
